The core of my teaching is transformation . . .

Barbara is a popular teacher and retreat leader. In addition to live and virtual classes, she designs retreats and seminars specific to organizations and professional groups. Barbara’s thrust in teaching, like coaching, is development. She combines her years of experience in psychology and spirituality to offer experiences that give people traction to change themselves and the lives of others. Here is a sampling of her classes.

Practical Integral: This curriculum teaches the practical application of Integral Theory for spiritual directors, coaches, clergy and other helping professionals. A class for spiritual directors in the Bay Area is in its sixth year.

Spiritual Development: This curriculum maps the journey of the individual from our separate self beginnings to the realization of our True or Divine nature and the embodiment our Unique Selves in service to the world.

The Future of Religious Traditions: This class explores the history of the world’s religious traditions from a developmental and cultural perspective. Understanding how the traditions have evolved over time creates an effective lens for understanding and accepting other’s positions as well as a vision for the evolution of the traditions individually and collectively.

The Three Faces of Spirit: This seminar is an experiential journey through the three lenses through which we experience the Divine: the first, second and third person perspective. Through art, verse, guided meditation and discussion participants explore each perspective in order to become more aware of their particular preference. Each has great value and taken together can offer a more complete experience of Spirit and a greater appreciation for other’s ways of relating.

I stand on the shoulders of many giants and my work is informed by too many to name however I would like to bow deeply to: Dr. Suzanne Cook-Greuter, Dr. Marc Gafni, Ken Wilber, Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei, Father Thomas Keating, Brother David Steindl-Rast, Terry Patten and Rev. Dr. Cynthia Bourgeault.
